Natasha Jones

Co-Founder

Natasha co-founded Founders Comms to bring senior strategic counsel to founders at every stage of growth. A seasoned communicator and corporate strategist, she specialises in high-stakes moments – capital raises, IPOs, regulatory battles, and business transformation – where communications can make or break outcomes. She previously led corporate affairs at Funding Circle from early-stage startup through IPO and life as a public company, building institutional credibility for a new lending model and shaping fintech regulation with policymakers in Westminster and Brussels. She then advised Index Ventures and its portfolio, where she met co-founder Rachel. She has served on boards including Innovate Finance, UK Finance, and the CBI's Financial Services Council, and holds an MBA from Warwick Business School.

Rachel Gurney

Co-Founder
Rachel co-founded Founders Comms to guide founders through periods of change or challenge, particularly in fast-evolving or highly-scrutinised sectors. A highly-experienced communications leader with experience both in-house and at leading agency Portland, she was previously Global Communications Director for Kry, Europe’s largest health tech startup. In that role she protected and promoted the company’s brand across five markets – engaging and influencing consumers, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders. Rachel brings extensive experience across tech, health, climate tech, education and infrastructure, previously supporting organisations including Pfizer, Index Ventures, Teach First and Heathrow. She is known for her strategic counsel in high-pressure moments – from funding announcements and regulatory issues to reputational crises and high-stake launches.

Jessica Heaney

Director
Jessica is a senior communications strategist with experience driving brand growth and commercial impact for businesses across the UK, EMEA and the US. Results-driven and deeply accountable, she helps her clients use communications to fast-track growth and influence key stakeholders. Her experience spans attracting investment, customer acquisition, boosting brand awareness and M&A readiness, with success across a wide variety of sectors including tech & AI, financial services, healthcare, FMCG and retail. Jessica has led integrated campaigns for ambitious startups, public sector organisations and listed companies as well as some of the world's most recognised brands – including FedEx Express and Hootsuite. Outside of Founders Comms, she is a part-time angel investor with a keen eye for early-stage potential.

Michael Mander

Senior Advisor
Michael is a communications and strategy specialist with experience across UK tech startups at every stage of growth. He began his career as a journalist, writing for national press and trade media, before leading communications for high-growth startups including Unibuddy, Beam, Multiverse – the UK's largest edtech. With a background spanning tech, media, education and government relations, Michael creates cross-channel campaigns that shift perception, influence opinion and deliver results. He brings sharp messaging instincts, a deep understanding of the media and policy landscape, and a strategic mindset to fast-growth organisations. Outside of work, Michael volunteers with the Samaritans and serves as a trustee for a counselling charity in Winchester.

Ellie has a track record of delivering high-impact, integrated campaigns that drive reputation, engagement, and growth. She brings deep expertise in fintech, payments and open banking, as well as experience across a wide range of other industries, helping her clients to translate complex ideas into compelling narratives that cut through. Having led external communications for UK startups and global scaleups such as Yapily and Nium, Ellie now applies that insight at Founders Comms, helping companies at every stage of growth align communications with commercial goals. She was recognised in the Innovate Finance Women in Fintech Powerlist for her work amplifying diverse voices across the industry.

Shenel Moore-Bick

Chief Copywriter
Based in Singapore, Shenel is an experienced copywriter and communications consultant who has led high‑impact campaigns and advisory projects for some of the world’s leading agencies – including Teneo and BCW. She has advised growth‑stage companies such as the healthtech Clinithink, and logistics innovator Huboo, alongside major brands including Barclaycard and Amazon Web Services. Shenel has also held in‑house roles with the UK Department for International Trade and the Royal Academy of Engineering, where she helped early-stage startups to maximise their media and social media exposure. Skilled at turning complex ideas and commercial goals into clear, compelling narratives, Shenel supports clients across health, technology, engineering and beyond to create communications strategies that deliver meaningful impact. Alongside her consulting work, she’s also a trained counsellor who supports women navigating family and relationship challenges.

As the global corporate communications lead at Kry, she drove market growth while collaborating closely across major public sector stakeholders including the NHS and the Department of Health and Social Care. At Founders Comms, Kate guides fast-scaling tech companies to translate complex technologies into compelling narratives that deliver stakeholder influence and commercial impact. Her high-profile media campaigns have delivered coverage across influential global and national outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Forbes, and the FT.

Advisor
Georgina combines strategic thinking with a journalist’s instinct for storytelling to help startups and scaleups deliver creative campaigns that drive reputation and build engagement. With extensive experience supporting businesses across climate, tech, security and FMCG, she has developed a global network of print, online and broadcast journalist contacts and has deep expertise in designing and delivering high-impact media campaigns. Georgina takes an integrated approach to communications, aligning media and social strategy to her clients’ commercial goals, and consistently secures tier‑one coverage – including recent features in the Financial Times, BBC, Independent, Wall Street Journal, CNBC, CNN and Bloomberg.

Amy is a trusted partner to founders and senior leaders, with experience supporting CEOs, entrepreneurs and high‑net‑worth individuals across wealth management, hospitality and private family offices. Amy is essential to both business administration and operations, offering comprehensive support that includes managing complex diaries, client onboarding, events, and assistance with HR and finance. She’s used to working in fast-paced, high-trust environments, helping things run smoothly behind the scenes so leaders can stay focused on their priorities. Before joining Founders Comms, Amy supported the founders of AllBright, a global network championing women in business – a mission she remains passionate about.

Jack Tracey

Associate
Jack is a public policy and public affairs specialist with a background in the technology industry. He began his career at Amazon, working across Alexa and Artificial General Intelligence as an engineer focused on information grounding services for AI products. He recently completed a Master’s in Public Administration in Digital Technologies and Policy at University College London, where he built on his experience in the AI sector to develop insight into the governance of emerging technologies. He holds a BA in Government from Cornell University and brings a comparative, international perspective, alongside a deep understanding of the technical and product challenges shaping public affairs and strategic communications.

Jo de Koning

Senior Advisor
Jo is an experienced corporate communicator with a background in both consultancy and in‑house leadership for complex, multinational organisations. She has headed communications and responsible business teams for major consumer brands including McDonald’s, Just Eat and consumer law firm, Slater and Gordon. During her time at McDonald’s, Jo coordinated issues management and media engagement across nearly 40 European markets, while driving reputation‑building initiatives focused on sustainability, supply chain and community impact. As Head of Corporate Comms at Just Eat she led communications during the brand’s successful $10bn merger with Takeaway.com. At Founders Comms Jo works with clients large and small to tell their stories to internal and external audiences – in the UK and internationally.
